We are excited to announce the newest addition to the Sojourn Staff! After eight months of prayerful consideration and intentional pursuit of a seasoned pastor to help us lead forward into the next decade of Sojourn, we have hired Brian Howard to be our Pastor of Teaching, Leadership & Church Multiplication. He presently is the founding and Lead Pastor of Copperhill Church in Valencia, California. Copperhill Church has grown from 12 people to over 600 in the last six years. Brian served on the board of the Acts 29 Network and directs church planter training, coaching, and networking for three west coast states. Brian holds a Master’s degree from Talbot School of Theology, has been a pastor for 19 years, and has extensive experience coaching church planters and emerging leaders. Brian also has a passion for church multiplication.
As one of Sojourn’s Executive Elders, Brian will provide leadership and direction to Sojourn’s Church Planting Center – primarily working in the development, sending and support of church planters internationally and throughout North America. He will also assist in providing leadership and direction to the Community Life within Sojourn. We are so fortunate to have Brian to help lead this church forward. His 19 years of ministry experience and his depth of experience in varying positions and churches will be invaluable to the Sojourn leadership team as we look to the next 10 years of more and better ministry in Louisville.

Brian has been happily married for 15 years to Chandra and has four amazing children who keep him incredibly busy! He loves hanging out with his family, enjoys running, cycling, watching college basketball, live music, and good sushi!
Brian and his family will be driving from California to Louisville in the next month and will be a regular part of our church in mid-March.
